The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered revitalizes one of Bethesda's landmark titles with enhanced visuals, refined gameplay, and more, yet the team at Virtuos ensured a beloved original line remained untouched.
Seasoned Elder Scrolls players are likely familiar with Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf located in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion debuted on PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, Tandilwe’s dialogue revealed her own need for speech coaching. One of her voice lines, widely believed to be an accidental inclusion, features actress Linda Kenyon re-recording a line.

As players explored a reimagined Cyrodiil yesterday, many eagerly checked the remaster’s fidelity to the original. While environments, character models, and items boast a modern polish, fans have been thrilled to discover that the quirks that defined 2006’s Oblivion endure. Tandilwe’s now-legendary (and amusing) blooper remains unchanged, complete with its original lack of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Kenyon learned her Oblivion blooper had gained internet fame, playfully insisting: "It was an honest mistake!"
While thousands of players diving into Oblivion Remastered debate whether Bethesda’s re-release leans more toward remake than remaster, many are simply delighted that its charming imperfections remain largely preserved. This commitment from Bethesda and Virtuos to retain the original’s character has resonated strongly with both newcomers and longtime fans.
