According to the tech gurus at Digital Foundry, the remastered version suffers from severe performance problems. Video producer Alex Battaglia described it as "perhaps one of the worst-running games I've ever tested for Digital Foundry."
"Even with the most powerful hardware, the stuttering is egregious, significantly diminishing the gaming experience to the extent that it's baffling how this was deemed acceptable for release," Battaglia remarked.
"Beyond the stuttering, this game is unusually resource-intensive. Even if you can tolerate the stutter, you'll find yourself lowering settings just to maintain a decent average frame rate," he added.
Given these issues, it's no shock that the top-downloaded mod for *Oblivion Remastered* on Nexus Mods is P40L0's 'Ultimate Engine Tweaks (Anti-Stutters - Lower Latency - No Film Grain - No Chromatic Aberration - Lossless),' which has seen an astonishing 386,604 downloads in less than a week.Here’s what the mod description says:
