For a while now, Tekken fans have been hoping to see a Waffle House featured in the game. Not as a real destination, but as an in-game stage. While Tekken 8's director appears to be on board with the idea, Waffle House itself has yet to bite.
On X/Twitter, game director Katsuhiro Harada has been replying to fans who continue to request a Waffle House stage for Tekken 8. This popular request has gained significant momentum, especially since Harada has shown personal interest in exploring the possibility.
Harada stated that he "completely understands" the fan demand. In fact, he's given it considerable thought and has already taken steps to try and bring the concept to life.
"Over the last year or so, I've attempted to reach out through several channels," Harada explained on X/Twitter. "But, and this is just my personal guess, the lack of reply might be because I'm associated with a franchise centered on 'fighting video games.'"
To be honest, within the bounds of what I can say, I fully understand your (you guys) request—that's precisely why I had considered taking on this challenge. In fact, I had already been thinking about it quite a while ago.

Harada pointed out that receiving no response at all is quite unusual. He added that if proposing the idea under a different name or format was acceptable—so long as the core concept remained—he would be open to revisiting and seriously exploring the opportunity again.
So, for the time being, it doesn't look like Kazuya and Jin will be brawling under the glow of a Waffle House sign. A parody version or a similar in-universe location could still be possible, however. Harada previously floated "Hustle House" as an alternative, which seems like a solid option.
Tekken 8 is gearing up for its next update with Patch 2.01, following the confirmation that Fahkumram will soon join the roster. In April, Harada addressed fan concerns about Tekken 8's Season 2, noting that the balancing team is working tirelessly to review feedback and implement improvements.
