After weeks of speculation, it's finally confirmed! Eternatus is making its Pokémon GO debut in its powerful Eternamax form for the first time. The Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale event will mark this momentous occasion.
The GO Fest 2025: Max Finale runs August 23rd-24th, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time, commencing right after the Dark Skies event concludes. The Dark Skies event begins August 18th and ends August 23rd, 2025.
During Dark Skies, expect special wild encounters featuring Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, Wooloo, and Skwovet - with potential Shiny variants of Wooloo and Skwovet appearing.
Welcome Eternatus Eternamax to Pokémon GO!
When the Max Finale weekend arrives, wild encounters will expand to include Kanto starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle alongside their Galar counterparts. Rare spawns like Caterpie, Gastly, Chansey, Shuckle, Sableye, Beldum, Darumaka, Trubbish, and Falinks will also appear.
Catching Eternatus requires purchasing either the GO Pass: Max Finale or GO Pass Deluxe: Max Finale. Trainers can only obtain one Eternatus during this event, and it won't appear in wild encounters or raids.
You'll encounter Eternatus through a special Max Battle adventure that begins during Dark Skies. This one-time catch opportunity requires significant Candy and Candy XL investments to power up your Eternatus afterward.
Max Battles on August 23rd-24th will feature Eternamax Eternatus appearances (though it won't be catchable again) and serve as the primary source for acquiring Eternatus Candy and Candy XL to strengthen your captured specimen.
Max Finale event perks include increased Power Spots, daily Power Spot refreshes, and a higher Max Particle collection limit. Event days grant double Candy and improved Candy XL drop rates when catching Pokémon.
Download Pokémon GO from Google Play Store to prepare for your Eternamax Eternatus encounter.
