Lunacy serves as the premium currency in Limbus Company, primarily used to obtain new Identities and E.G.O. Essentially, it is the core resource for the game's gacha system. To collect various character variants, accumulating as much Lunacy as possible is key.
Earning Lunacy in Limbus Company follows a pattern common to many gacha games. Players receive a substantial amount early on, but the acquisition rate slows considerably as account progression advances.

How to Earn Lunacy in Limbus Company

For newcomers, progressing through the main story is the most effective method. Each chapter typically yields around 390 Lunacy, with an extra 260 available for achieving an EX rating on a sufficient number of missions. An EX clear requires meeting all special objectives for a given mission. The first time you EX clear a mission, you earn an additional 40 Lunacy, so striving for these objectives is highly rewarding.
Clearing Luxcavation stages for the first time also grants Lunacy, though these are one-time rewards.
Once all available story content is complete, your Lunacy income will naturally decrease. Beyond this point, the primary methods for obtaining Lunacy include:
- Completing or EX clearing event stages.
- Participating in Boosted Mirror Dungeons.
- Uptying Identities.
- Claiming battle pass rewards.
- Making direct purchases.

Boosted Mirror Dungeons offer the most reliable weekly Lunacy source. You can complete up to three runs per week, earning a total of 750 Lunacy. These dungeons reset every Wednesday. Given their challenging nature, it's advisable to field your strongest Identities.
Limited-time events are another excellent opportunity to gather Lunacy. Since events are available for a short duration, participating whenever possible is the best strategy for maximizing your earnings. Be sure to review all event rewards thoroughly to avoid missing out.
Uptying refers to upgrading your Sinners' Identities and E.G.O. As the Uptie tier increases, so does their power. Reaching Uptie Tier 3 grants 40 Lunacy per upgrade. Unlike Mirror Dungeons, this method has a finite limit, but since advancing non-default Sinner Identities to Uptie 3 takes considerable time, it can be viewed as a long-term Lunacy goal. Continue leveling your characters and acquiring Threads to eventually Uptie your entire team.
Finally, the game's battle passes provide abundant resources for strengthening your Sinners, including Lunacy. While free reward tracks exist, unlocking the full suite of premium rewards requires a real-money purchase.
