Xbox Ally X Black Friday Sale Details

by Nova Dec 25,2025

The Asus ROG Ally X has now been available for over a month. It is indeed a premium device, and you likely won't find any significant Black Friday discounts. This is largely because Asus had to increase production to meet high demand; even its steep price tag couldn't deter eager buyers.

While you may not save much on the system itself, it's still a great time to purchase the Ally X or stock up on accessories if you already own one.

What Is the Price?

ROG Ally X

Available for $999.99 at Best Buy

Unlike bundles sometimes offered for something like the Nintendo Switch 2, neither Asus nor Microsoft provides package deals. You'll pay the full $999 for the Ally X or $599 for the standard ROG Ally, which features a less powerful chip and a white design. A Black Friday price cut for either model seems very unlikely.

Black Friday hasn't arrived yet, of course. At the time of writing, the only "deal" I can find requires purchasing five units of the basic Ally for a total of $2,850, which works out to $580 per unit—a mere $19 off each. Not exactly a compelling offer.

There's a slight chance a retailer might discount the Ally X, but you should expect to pay the full price. However, that doesn't mean you can't find savings elsewhere.

Accessories Offer Opportunities

The Ally X box includes the console and a charger. That's all you need to start gaming, but it's a bit sparse if you plan to take the device on the go.

My first recommendation for any Ally X owner is a protective case. Coincidentally, my top case pick is on sale for Black Friday. dbrand's Killswitch Case for the Ally X is available for $59 for the basic version. I highly recommend the $79 Travel Kit, which includes a cover to prevent button presses in your bag. I use this case daily and can confidently recommend it.

If that's still outside your budget, the excellent JSAux Carrying Case for the Ally X is also on sale for just $22. This is more of a travel case than an always-on shell, but it's perfect for transportation. It even has slots for microSD cards, ideal for carrying your entire game library.

Save Money on Games

The Ally X doesn't play physical cartridges like the Nintendo Switch 2, but you can still save on games. As a Windows handheld, it works with every PC storefront, allowing you to capitalize on seasonal sales to build your library.

For example, Steam is running its first-ever "Black Friday" sale (essentially a rebranded Autumn Sale). It includes many great handheld titles, like Risk of Rain 2 for just $8.24. Dark Souls Remastered, which runs flawlessly on the Ally X, is also discounted to $19.99. While not as large as the Winter Sale, there are plenty of affordable games available.

The Xbox Store is also hosting a Black Friday sale. You can find portable-friendly games such as Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake for $35.99 or Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii for $29. Additionally, a PC Game Pass subscription remains the most cost-effective way to access the latest Game Pass titles.

It would be wonderful if the admittedly pricey ROG Ally X received a Black Friday discount, but that probably won't happen. The good news is you can still save on all the complementary gear—a welcome plus for both prospective buyers and current owners.
