Smite 2's Open Beta Launches with Aladdin and More!
Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, has officially launched its free-to-play open beta across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update.
A year in the making, Smite 2 leverages Unreal Engine 5 to deliver a visually enhanced and mechanically refined experience. The core gameplay remains familiar – 5v5 battles featuring gods from diverse mythologies – but with improvements to combat and a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility.
This open beta introduces a wealth of new content:
- Aladdin: A brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2, boasting unique abilities including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic. His ultimate involves trapping enemies in a 1v1 duel using his magic lamp.
- Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian God of Earth), Mulan (Chinese Ascendant Warrior), Agni (Hindu Pantheon), and Ullr (Norse Pantheon) join the roster.
- Joust's Return: The beloved 3v3 Joust mode makes a triumphant return.
- New Map and Mode Updates: A fresh Arthurian-themed map debuts alongside updates to the Conquest map and an alpha version of the Assault game mode.
- God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods add further strategic depth.

Titan Forge Games, the developer, has expressed confidence in Smite 2's superiority over its predecessor, crediting player feedback from the closed alpha for the game's improvements. They’ve also promised ambitious new content additions for 2025.
While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently absent from the Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the possibility of a Switch 2 release remains open. Download Smite 2's open beta today and experience the next generation of god-battling action!
