How To Craft Gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Gems are equipable items that you can craft in-game, but you'll need to complete a few steps before unlocking this feature. First, after joining Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1, visit any Inn to receive a letter from Zhang Fei explaining Gems and their raw material called Pyroxene.
Pyroxene appears randomly throughout the overworld as large, jewel-shaped formations. While traveling between battles, keep an eye out for these valuable deposits. You can also obtain Pyroxene by completing sidequests, collecting Old Coins, and reading letters at Inns, allowing you to quickly build a stockpile.
When you've collected Pyroxene, return to any Inn to begin crafting Gems. The process involves randomization - whether you use one or ten Pyroxene pieces, the resulting Gem type is always randomly determined. However, if you notice a white glow around certain Gems in the crafting menu, this indicates only that specific Gem type can be crafted during that Inn visit.
Gems grow stronger through repeated crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Transforming more Pyroxene into the same Gem type enhances its effects. These buffs start modest but become increasingly valuable. Since you can initially equip only one Gem at a time, choose wisely based on your battle strategy.
For example, the Wellspring Gem restores health per 100 enemies defeated - ideal for large-scale battles. Conversely, the Ascendance Gem boosts your chance to automatically block officer attacks, proving more useful in duels against enemy commanders. With enough refinement, these Gem enhancements can significantly impact battle outcomes.
