Among the most eagerly awaited releases from last year, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage certainly stands out. The original Pirates Outlaws was a captivating, stylish roguelike deckbuilder that hit the scene when the genre was still blossoming. Now, its sequel is set to make waves with a Q3 launch this year!
This "seaquel" returns you to the high seas of New Elysia for another thrilling voyage. Choose your character, class ability, and starting deck, and set sail on an adventure filled with danger and discovery. Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces multiple characters, each with seven unique class options, allowing you to customize your deck and even recruit an animal companion to enhance your strategic gameplay. With improved turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have a plethora of tools to dominate the oceans!
Run out the guns - Pirates Outlaws 2 promises an expansive sequel, offering more freedom to explore the map and a vast array of card and character combinations. PC gamers will have the first opportunity to dive into the action with an upcoming Steam demo, giving you a chance to get your hands on Pirates Outlaws 2 before its full release.
However, I have some reservations about the animations showcased in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static. While fully animating the illustrations can be challenging, I'm hopeful that the final mobile release will feature more dynamic effects to enhance the visual experience later this year.
