Paradox Teases New Strategy Title

by Sebastian Oct 31,2025

Paradox Interactive, the studio behind Stellaris and Crusader Kings 3, plans to unveil an "ambitious" new project next week.

While no specific details were revealed, the developer highlighted its 25-year legacy of crafting strategy games that "span from ancient Rome to distant galaxies," hinting at an imminent announcement for its "next major title in the genre."

Codenamed "Caesar," this mysterious project has been teased through developer diaries called "Tinto Talks" on Paradox's forums. The team has actively gathered player feedback on gameplay mechanics, core systems, and historical accuracy—but now promises to "finally introduce Caesar to the world."

The most recent Tinto Talks—produced by Barcelona's Studio Tinto—delved into Protestant religious mechanics and the "final configuration of Western Christian denominations, including the Wars of Religion," all tied to their "highly classified project: codename Caesar."

The fact that the reveal trailer will premiere on the Europa Universalis YouTube channel fuels speculation that this could be a new installment in the franchise… though nothing is confirmed yet.

Fans aren't holding back theories, with many convinced the project is Europa Universalis-related.

"Dev diaries avoid calling it EU5, but every hint points squarely in that direction," noted one Reddit user. Another responded to speculation about the YouTube channel choice: "Guess the clues were hiding in plain sight."

"Honestly, it's been an unspoken truth for ages thanks to Tinto Talks threads," added a forum member.

Mark your calendars for May 8, 2025, at 9 AM PDT (12 PM EDT, 5 PM UK time) when Paradox's livestream promises to reveal "a new chapter for grand strategy"—and possibly confirm the rumors.

We praised Europa Universalis IV with an 8.9/10 in our IGN review, calling it "a masterclass in balancing depth and approachability within the strategy genre."
