She portrayed one of the most iconic characters in the Game of Thrones universe, but Milly Alcock faced a challenging start. The Australian actress, who stars as the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the spinoff series House of the Dragon, recently shared that a high-ranking individual suggested she take acting lessons after her second day on set.

“On my second day on House of the Dragon, someone in a senior role, I won’t name them, pulled me aside and said, ‘We’re going to get you an acting coach,’” Alcock disclosed during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, admitting she felt "mortified."

The Critics Choice award nominee also lightheartedly reflected on how the moment grounded her. “It really drove home what I’d always suspected—that I’m not great at my job,” she quipped. “I was thinking, ‘This is too much. I can’t do this. It’s a huge mistake.’”

Alcock, set to star as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl in this summer’s Superman film and next year’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, portrayed King Viserys I Targaryen’s daughter and heir in Season 1 as a series regular and appeared as a guest star in Season 2 of the show, which chronicles the decline of House Targaryen. Emma D’Arcy plays the adult Princess, who later ascends as Queen.

The series debuted in August 2022, just over three years after the original Game of Thrones concluded. House of the Dragon earned a second season renewal days after its premiere and secured a third season in June 2024 before Season 2 aired. The show also clinched the Golden Globe for Best Television Series — Drama.

While Season 3 is confirmed, an official release date has yet to be announced.
