Feral Interactive has launched a significant update for Total War MEDIEVAL II, enhancing multiplayer and combat mechanics on Android. Dubbed the Hotseats and Halberds update, it introduces exciting new features to the mobile experience.
Kingdoms' desktop content debuts on mobile
The highlight of this update is Hotseat multiplayer—previously exclusive to the Kingdoms expansion on PC. Now players can enjoy this feature across Kingdoms campaigns and the Grand Campaign on mobile devices.
The mode allows multiple players to share a single device, taking turns controlling their chosen faction. Both cooperative and competitive playstyles are supported, including a unique Battle Royale mode with special victory conditions.
A new Cohesion system improves Pikemen effectiveness—these units now maintain formation better during combat unless suffering heavy losses. Halberdiers have been adjusted to serve as proper late-game counterparts to traditional spearmen, particularly effective against armored infantry.
Two-handed weapon specialists like Zweihanders and Daneaxe wielders receive updated stats with cohesion-disruption abilities and combat enhancements.
The most polished version yet
Gunpowder units (Arquebusiers and Musketeers) have seen firing mechanics improved—their fire-by-rank behavior no longer hampers performance against archers and crossbowmen.
Naval updates include adjusted movement speeds for late-era ships, while shieldless knights gain defensive rebalancing. Ribault artillery joins other tuned units in receiving gameplay refinements.
The update is now available on Google Play Store—promising substantial gameplay improvements.
