A recently uncovered bug in Marvel Rivals severely disadvantages players with less powerful PCs. Low FPS (frames per second) directly impacts several heroes, causing reduced movement speed and damage output. This effectively transforms the game into a "pay-to-win" scenario, where the cost of entry isn't monetary, but rather the expense of upgrading PC hardware.
While this is clearly a bug and not an intended game mechanic, a swift fix isn't guaranteed. The underlying issue stems from the Delta Time parameter, a crucial element in ensuring consistent game performance regardless of frame rate. Resolving this complex technical problem will require considerable development time.
Currently, the following heroes are known to be affected:
- Doctor Strange
- Wolverine
- Venom
- Magik
- Star-Lord
These characters exhibit slower movement, reduced jump height, and diminished damage. Other heroes may also be impacted. Until a patch is released, players are advised to optimize their FPS, potentially by lowering graphical settings.
