Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Launches with Steam Workshop, Barber Shops Added

by Thomas May 14,2025

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, dubbed version 1.2, which brings exciting new features to enhance your medieval adventure. The highlight of this update is the seamless integration of mods through the Steam Workshop, making it easier than ever to customize your gaming experience directly within the game. This feature eliminates the need for third-party platforms, although it hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. At launch, a select few mods are available, including:

  • Free Saving: Replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item, granting players unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a visually striking zebra.

While the initial mod selection is modest, the modding community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work across both platforms. Although Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods will likely soon be available there.

In addition to mod support, version 1.2 introduces a new barber shop system. Players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design, with each visit temporarily boosting the protagonist's Charisma stat.

The update extends well beyond these headline features, with Warhorse Studios' official website detailing an extensive changelog. Over a thousand fixes and improvements cover nearly every aspect of the game, including balancing adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behavior. Notable updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing realism.
  • Improved horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Enhanced character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to discuss these changes in depth during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio's commitment to the game is evident, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an increasingly immersive medieval experience.
