Infinity Nikki and its much-anticipated 1.5 update have now launched on Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a flurry of controversy and player dissatisfaction.
Infold Games' visually stunning dress-up adventure game, which was previously exclusive to the Epic Game Store, finally made its way to Valve's digital platform. However, instead of celebrating, fans have been met with a series of technical glitches, unexpected design alterations, and stringent outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the struggle for a better Infinity Nikki experience is far from resolved.

Infinity Nikki's PC community eagerly anticipated the Steam release, but their excitement quickly turned to frustration as they encountered crashes and overall instability that prevented them from even starting the game. While technical difficulties at launch are not uncommon, the issues extend beyond performance.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces, has shocked players. This means potentially up to 220 pulls and a significant investment of time and money to complete these sets. The sudden increase in the number of pieces needed, without prior notice, has raised concerns that future outfits might demand even more from players.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing further unrest among the player base. Amidst these technical and gameplay issues, and as Infold introduced more aggressive monetization strategies, the Chinese community mobilized on RedNote, sparking a global movement. Players worldwide are now urging others to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall the game across all platforms.
Reddit user kiaxxl highlighted the community's strategy in a call-to-action post, suggesting that withholding pulls for a few days could send a strong message to the developers. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."
The backlash has been significant enough to impact the game's rating on Steam, which now stands at "Mixed" as players post negative reviews to caution new users until their concerns are addressed.
In response to the uproar, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improved communication about future changes. The letter included compensation for players in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds, along with adjustments to the Mira Crown event.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
While some see these concessions as a victory, others remain wary, especially about the decision to maintain 11-piece outfits. Concerns linger that future updates might continue this trend, as voiced by Reddit user EdensAsmr: "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it."
Despite the ongoing issues, Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now live, and players can find comprehensive details in our Infinity Nikki 1.5 Bubble Season hub. New players can benefit from 100 free pulls and redeem new codes for rewards like Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For those exploring the new Sea of Stars area, our interactive map offers checklists to track progress.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!
