Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a unique challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.
Method 1: The Spirit Bridge
The ruins of a bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, closer to Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken segments. Several options exist for crossing:
-
Gloves of Teleportation: These teleport each party member individually across the gaps.
-
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat allow for teleporting across the gaps, though party member skill limitations may apply.
-
Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation skills to cross, then the others teleport to their location.
-
Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island, unlocks the waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
Method 2: The Undead Ferry
Located northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is a trap – only undead are immune to the Deathfog.
-
With Fane: Fane, being undead, can safely cross, unlock the waypoint, and allow the party to fast travel.
-
Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying in the process), then the others teleport using the pyramids, resurrecting the companion upon arrival. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.
Important Considerations:
-
Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless prepared for a potentially lethal Deathfog counterattack. A quick save is recommended. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
-
If Fane isn't in your party, the bridge method is generally faster and safer.
By employing one of these strategies, players can successfully navigate the Deathfog and explore the secrets of Bloodmoon Island.
