Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a substantial refresh for the original special tribe, first introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion units receive a dramatic makeover. Land units now boast mermaid tails, granting them amphibious capabilities. They move effortlessly across water but are slower on land. This update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Buildings have also undergone an aquatic transformation. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for seafaring warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, now a permanent addition, function similarly to their land-based counterparts.
New aquatic creatures join the fray. Sharks ambush unsuspecting foes, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also feature enhancements, with crabs now flooding the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops.
