This app complies with the OATH standard and serves as a client component in Fortinet's comprehensive security solution, which also includes FortiOS, FortiAuthenticator, or FortiToken Cloud for OTP validation.
Privacy and Control:
FortiToken Mobile is designed with user privacy in mind. It does not have the capability to alter settings on your device, capture images or videos, record or transmit audio, or access your emails. It also does not track your browsing history. The app requires your explicit permission to send notifications or modify settings. Importantly, FortiToken Mobile cannot perform a remote wipe of your device. The only information it may access is your OS version, solely to ensure compatibility with the app's version. During manual token setup, you might enter sensitive details like your email address or token seeds for FortiToken tokens, third-party tokens, and token transfers.
While FortiToken Mobile cannot make changes to your device without your consent, certain permissions are necessary for its operation:
- Camera Access: This is used for scanning QR codes to facilitate token activation.
- TouchID/FaceID: These are employed to enhance app security.
- Internet Access: Required for token activation and receiving push notifications.
- Email Feedback: The app can automatically fill in the sender's email address when you choose to send feedback.
- File Sharing: Allows the app to share files internally to attach them to feedback emails.
- Wake Lock: FortiToken Mobile needs to keep your device awake during database upgrades to prevent data corruption.
