Carplounge Autopilot / Raymarine Element App for RT7 & RT4 V4
The Carplounge Autopilot revolutionizes the control of your BaitBoat by replacing the traditional remote control with an Android tablet or smartphone. The app, available for free on the Google Play Store, is compatible with any Android device equipped with Bluetooth. By connecting the tablet to the boat through a Bluetooth transmitter box, you can fully manage the boat's operations via a user-friendly touchscreen.
In manual mode, the BaitBoat functions similarly to a conventional model, allowing you to steer it directly from the touchscreen. The app provides real-time updates on the boat's position, route, and orientation, thanks to integrated GPS and compass functionalities. Furthermore, you can save and label promising fishing spots identified by the echo sounder, such as "jetty left", "spot 1", or "home", using the built-in GPS.
Switch to autopilot mode, and you unlock the ability to program routes with specific actions at each point, including opening hatches, releasing bait, or turning on lights. For instance, you might set a sequence like: 1) Navigate to "Sandbank" and open the right hopper upon arrival, 2) Proceed to "Spot 2" and open the left hopper there, and 3) Return to your fishing location with a single blink. The boat can then autonomously follow this programmed route, accommodating an almost unlimited number of saved spots and routes. Advanced sensors and the latest in GPS and compass technology ensure route precision with an accuracy of less than 30cm in 90% of cases.
The system also smartly manages line tension during movement, especially when deploying multiple rods to different spots. The boat's electronics detect line tension and adjust the steering to maintain a direct course to the target, avoiding unnecessary turns that could cause line bends.
While the autopilot system primarily uses the tablet for control, it's also possible to connect a traditional remote control to the autopilot, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred method of operation. The app, optimized for 10-inch Android tablets, will continue to evolve with regular updates through the Google Play Store, ensuring that you receive new features and improvements without needing to return your autopilot or boat.
