Disney has officially announced that EPCOT's Test Track, presented by General Motors at Walt Disney World Resort, will reopen on July 22, 2025, alongside several exciting new details.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the attraction’s enhancements include an original musical score and fresh scenes that showcase technology making vehicles smarter and everyday life more enjoyable.
One newly added scene demonstrates how cars utilize advanced cameras and sensors to visually interpret their surroundings. It illustrates the principles behind autonomous driving and highlights how LiDAR technology enhances safety for all.
Disney also noted that while earlier versions of Test Track were set in a conceptual environment, this reimagined experience is firmly grounded in reality. This includes segments that simulate a scenic drive through the Pacific Northwest.
"Our goal with the new Test Track is to celebrate the joy of driving and create the feeling of a memorable road trip with family and friends," said Walt Disney Imagineering's Nathaniel Gearhart. "These are the kinds of journeys that create lasting memories."
To achieve an authentic atmosphere, the design team selected four tree species—Cedar, Spruce, Maple, and Oak—characteristic of the Pacific Northwest, and incorporated extensive canopy foliage to immerse guests in the environment.
Test Track first opened in 1999, was updated in 2012, and following a closure on June 17, 2024, the newly reimagined Test Track 3.0 is set to debut in 2025.
The return of Test Track is among many highlights awaiting guests at Walt Disney World this summer, and it's included in our list of 14 reasons this season is an ideal time to visit, thanks to Cool Kid Summer.
