How to Play 101 Çanak Okey

The standard 101 Çanak Okey game is played with four players. The game pieces come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. Additionally, there are two fake Okeys, making a total of 106 stones.

At the start of the game, all stones are shuffled and automatically distributed among the players. The player next to the dealer receives 22 stones, while the others get 21 stones each. Players then organize their stones into groups or pairs based on their cues.

The remaining stones are placed in the center of the table. The stone with the open number in the center is the indicator stone, and the stone that matches its color and number is the Okey Stone. The Okey can substitute for any other stone in the game. Completing the game with an Okey stone (by discarding Okey) doubles the points earned.

Normal Stone Arrangement

Players arrange their stones into sets of at least three. There are two types of sets:

  • Series: Aligning stones of the same color in sequence.
  • Pairs: Placing the same number of stones of different colors side by side.

Pairs Line-Up

Players aim to arrange all their stones into pairs. When a player forms seven pairs, they can end the game by dragging the last stone to the center of the table.

Finishing the Game

If the final discarded stone is not an Okey, it's considered a normal finish, and -101 points are deducted from the player who finishes.
