Capcom has pulled a planned lecture on optimizing Monster Hunter Wilds from the upcoming CEDEC 2025 conference in Japan. The decision comes as the company faces ongoing harassment and threats directed at its staff concerning the game.

According to Automaton, Capcom was scheduled to present at Japan's Computer Entertainment Developers Conference. The talk would have examined performance optimization techniques using Monster Hunter Wilds as a case study, covering topics like CPU and GPU load management and memory usage efficiency.

Although no official reason was provided for the cancellation, many suspect it relates to the harassment developers have received over Monster Hunter Wilds. The PC version has drawn particular criticism since launch, leading Capcom to promise ongoing improvements and updates.

After releasing Title Update 2, the team hoped the planned adjustments would resolve these concerns. Player experiences have been mixed, however, prompting Capcom to address several significant bugs and issues in a statement on Twitter/X.

Meanwhile, Capcom issued another statement on its official website addressing what appears to be more extreme feedback. Automaton reports that staff have endured harassment through social media and customer support channels, including personalized threats. The company has warned it will pursue legal action in serious cases of employee harassment.

While the lecture cancellation hasn't been officially explained, the timing strongly suggests harassment concerns influenced the decision. While constructive criticism and feedback remain valuable, these extreme actions are counterproductive and won't help improve Monster Hunter Wilds.

On a positive note, Title Update 2 is now available, and players are reportedly enjoying the new hunting opportunities, particularly the chance to face Lagiacrus.
