Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo introduces a fresh take on the musou genre with the launch of Warriors: Abyss, a new roguelite featuring beloved characters from the Warriors series. Released today, this game promises an exhilarating experience as you assemble a squad to battle through wave after wave of enemies.
Showcased during the PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss adopts an isometric camera angle, drawing inspiration from classics like Diablo and the Greek mythology-themed roguelite, Hades. Players will navigate their team through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes. The game features iconic characters such as Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, bringing familiar faces into the fray.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team over time, enhancing their summoning capabilities. Up to seven active heroes can be deployed in battle, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch. Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the character lineup, starting with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future waves of characters, including potential additions from beyond the Warriors universe.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be released on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. Players looking to acquire the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
