"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed Again to October 2025"

by Zoe May 26,2025

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, with its release now scheduled for October 2025. This latest setback, announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, is a modest shift from the earlier target of the first half of 2025. Despite the frustration this may cause, fans can take solace in the fact that the game is complete, with the current focus being on bug fixes, stability, and performance enhancements to ensure the best possible player experience upon release.

Executive Producer Marco Behrmann emphasized the game's readiness, stating, “The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.” While the delay is yet another in a long line of postponements, the update video offers some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced the narrative depth, and developed characters further since the last major update. Additionally, players can look forward to an “evolved role” for Fabien in the storyline. However, the frequency of updates will decrease moving forward, as announced on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch planned for Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. The development baton was eventually passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, the game is set to launch in October 2025.

The repeated delays raise questions about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally satisfy fans eager for the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic video game. The Chinese Room remains optimistic, and Paradox Interactive has hinted at future plans, mentioning that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, “someone else” will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
