Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant overhaul to the game. This season introduces the captivating Cloud Oasis, where players will dive into new economic gameplay mechanics. Not only will you battle monsters, but you'll also construct and manage your own aerial empire, trading resources, assigning workers, and optimizing production lines.
Thea makes a return in Season 8 with an intriguing twist. Her new Blasphemer trait trades her divine abilities for the curse of Desecration. This curse may start off weak, but it scales impressively, enhancing Erosion damage inversely to her remaining blessing power. Players can tailor their builds to leverage Desecration into powerful AoE explosions or HP-scaling effects, making it a perfect fit for those who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and complex synergies.
Endgame content is receiving a major update with Deep Space being completely reworked. Expect five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. The new Probes system allows players to adjust the risk and reward levels, with each Probe increasing the difficulty while offering the chance at superior loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
The update also rolls out a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into one item slot, thus providing deeper build customization options. A formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, challenging players to test their skills.
Coinciding with the launch of Season 8, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Participants can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
