Thomas Waterzooi Announces Innovative Art Puzzle Game: Please, Watch The Artwork

Game designer Thomas Waterzooi is crafting another unconventional art-based puzzle experience. His latest creation challenges players not to interact, but simply observe the artwork. Titled Please, Watch The Artwork, this mobile game was revealed during the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025.

A New Twist on the Beloved Series

Following the success of Please, Touch The Artwork (2022) and its 2024 sequel, this new installment takes the series' artistic exploration in a more psychological direction. While serving as a spin-off, it doesn't replace the upcoming Please, Touch The Artwork 3, which Waterzooi confirms remains in development. Watch the reveal trailer below.

An Experience Wrapped in Eerie Atmosphere

At its core, Please, Watch The Artwork transforms players into nightwatch guards at the fictional MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art). Through surveillance feeds, you'll monitor paintings that mysteriously shift and transform. Your objective: identify subtle changes before an unsettling psychological tension takes hold.

Celebrating Hopper's Vision

The game features over 40 reimagined Edward Hopper paintings across six themed galleries. Players encounter looping, breathing versions of iconic scenes: abandoned diners, pensive bedrooms, and shadowed street corners. The complete absence of music heightens immersion - only ambient sounds fill each space, becoming crucial clues as audio anomalies count toward your observations.

Coming soon to Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch, the game is tentatively scheduled for an October mobile release. Waterzooi's ASMR-style announcement established the project's uniquely surreal tone. Visit the official website for additional details.
