Animation has gifted us some of fiction's most cherished characters, and in recent years, it's become a treasure trove for modern memes. My colleague Jacob wrote about its removal from HBO Max earlier this year, which caused quite a stir on social media. MTV also had a solid lineup of animated hits back in the day. *Daria* was a personal favorite, though I now realize she wasn't the best role model for my teenage self. Mike Judge's *Beavis & Butthead* also got its start on the music video channel. The complete collections for both series are up for grabs.
Bringing us to the modern era, *Bluey* has been a massive hit with younger audiences. It's one of the most popular shows on streaming, and the upcoming *Bluey* movie in 2027 is poised to break box office records. And let's not forget *SpongeBob*! While many individual seasons are available, a real collector's item is the *300 Best Episodes* collection. Released last October, this set contains 306 episodes from all 14 seasons spread across 44 discs. I consider *SpongeBob* one of the best shows in any medium. While later seasons may dip in quality, the series' legacy is undeniable. IGN staff highlighted some of our favorite episodes back in 2018, which is a great guide for navigating such a massive collection.
