Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown, even before reaching its first anniversary. However, the game will still celebrate its one-year milestone before officially closing down. The question remains: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its way out?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5.

Zynga, the developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players are encouraged to use any unspent Crystals, as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters seems almost inevitable. The game faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.

A delayed launch, absence of major console support, and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. Even the game's design missed the mark by opting for generic original characters instead of leveraging the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe.

If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last playthrough, it's still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
