Sony has officially unveiled the PC specifications for *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* ahead of its eagerly anticipated April 3 release. In addition to the PC specs, Sony has detailed enticing PSN sign-in incentives and announced exciting new content for the No Return Mode, available across both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
In a comprehensive post on the PlayStation Blog, developer Naughty Dog, along with support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, outlined the robust features that enhance the PC version of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered*. This release comes a year after the game's initial launch on the PlayStation 5.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:
- Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
- AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
- VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate option
- DirectStorage support
- Adjustable Texture Quality
- LOD Distance Range
- Volumetric Quality
- Shadow Quality
- Ambient Occlusion
- Reflections Quality
The PC version also supports ultrawide monitors, allowing gameplay in 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions, with compatibility for triple-monitor setups. Players can enjoy the game in 4K resolution, with support for various controllers as well as keyboard and mouse controls. The game also includes 3D audio for an immersive experience.
Keyboard and mouse control support brings new customization options, including full control remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode that combines keyboard and controller inputs. Full gamepad support is available, with DualSense controllers offering haptic feedback.
“The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC offers a wide range of graphics settings and presets, to ensure the best possible experience on hardware ranging from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices,” Sony stated.
The Last of Us Part 2 PC Specs:
Moving to the No Return mode, Sony is introducing two new characters, Bill and Marlene from *The Last of Us Part I*. Bill, with a "Smuggler" playstyle, can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops and receives double rewards from drops. He's stronger against melee attacks but can't dodge. Marlene, on the other hand, adopts a "Risk Taker" playstyle, featuring a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.
Four new maps are also coming to No Return mode:
- Overlook: Set high above Seattle, offering vertical gameplay and a Seraphites encounter reminiscent of the campaign.
- School: The abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina face off against the W.L.F.
- Streets: Located in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood of Seattle.
- Nest: Familiar to players as Abby navigates an Infected-infested building.
All the new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch, Sony confirmed.
In line with Sony's recent policy change regarding PlayStation Network requirements, *The Last of Us 2 Remastered* on PC features an optional PSN log-in. Logging in to PSN grants access to the PlayStation overlay and PSN Trophies. As an added incentive, players who sign in with their PSN account will receive 50 in-game points to activate bonus features and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s new PS5 game, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*.
PS5 players can also unlock the Jordan’s jacket skin through the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.
Earlier this month, *The Last of Us* director Neil Druckmann shared insights into *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* during an interview with Alex Garland, the writer of the zombie movie *28 Days Later*. Druckmann revealed that *Intergalactic* has been in development for four years and is set in an alternate historical timeline, focusing on themes of faith and religion.
The PC version of *The Last of Us 2 Remastered* arrives just before Season 2 of HBO's acclaimed TV adaptation. Showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed that spores, omitted from Season 1, will make a return in the upcoming season.
