The Last of Us' TV adaptation has been a massive hit, leading to an early confirmation of Season 3 before Season 2 even began. Fans are now eagerly wondering if there will be a Season 4. Showrunner Craig Mazin has hinted that a fourth season is almost necessary to fully tell the story from the two Naughty Dog video games.
In a conversation with Collider, Mazin explained that wrapping up the narrative in just Season 3 would make it excessively long. He noted that while Season 3 might be longer than Season 2, "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season." He expressed hope that the show would continue to perform well enough to justify a fourth season, stating, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
