In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing out on side tasks can be frustrating, especially when you can't return to complete them. One such crucial side quest is finding Rosa's book, which can be easily overlooked. Here’s how to unlock and successfully complete "Rosa’s Book."
Unlocking the Rosa’s Book Side Quest
To initiate "Rosa’s Book," you must first complete the quest "Via Argentum" and then start "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," you'll assist the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak, either through force or persuasion. Once that's done, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll reveal a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. In the same conversation, Rosa will ask you to retrieve a book for her from Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the specific book and promise to bring it back to her, which officially starts the "Rosa’s Book" quest.

Remember, you can only complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the opportunity to romance Rosa. Fortunately, the book is conveniently located along your route to Hans' room.
Upon entering Maleshov, head towards the largest tower where Hans is located. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a small kitchen nearby. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Sneak up the stairs to find a room with Lady Ofka sitting by the fireplace. Approach her from behind and knock her out. Collect the keys from her body and the podium in her room, and grab the sword from the chest. In this room, you'll find Rosa's book. Look to the right of the fireplace, where you'll see a red book in the window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While you're in the area, enter the next room and take another sword from the chest there. This will save time later when you need two weapons for Hans and his surprise guest. After securing the book and additional weapons, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans is reluctant to use the passageway, you can advance your romance with him by selecting the dialogue option with a heart symbol, provided you also chose the heart option in Trosky. Then, sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, dealing with guards as needed. Clear a path, signal Hans, and ensure he reaches the stables safely.
Once you open the gate, another cutscene will conclude the quest. After it ends, return to Kuttenberg City and visit Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, completing "Rosa’s Book" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
