Exciting news for *Pokemon GO* enthusiasts: Niantic has announced that players can now use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids during the upcoming Fashion Week: Taken Over event. This marks the first time this feature has been available for Shadow Raids since their introduction to the game in 2023. During this special event, players will have the opportunity to catch Pokemon with higher IV stats, adding an extra layer of excitement to the raids.
As 2025 kicks off, *Pokemon GO* is set to see numerous updates, including the return of Ralts for the second Community Day in January. The Fashion Week: Taken Over event, running from Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, will allow trainers to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids either in person or remotely.
Pokemon GO Temporarily Introducing Remote Raid Passes for Shadow Raids
The ability to use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids is limited to the duration of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. However, players can also look forward to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid day on January 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this raid day, trainers will have a boosted chance to catch a rare shiny shadow Ho-Oh and can teach it the powerful charged attack, Sacred Fire. Additionally, players can use a Charged TM to help Shadow Pokemon forget the move Frustration.
The introduction of remote raid passes for Shadow Raids has been a highly requested feature among *Pokemon GO* players since Shadow Raids were first introduced. While this feature will only be available during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, it has sparked excitement and speculation about its potential future availability. After the event, remote raid passes will no longer be usable for Shadow Raids.
It remains uncertain whether Niantic will make this feature a permanent addition to the game. Given the community's feedback on the challenges of gathering in person for Dynamax and Gigantamax battles, many fans hope that remote raid passes for Shadow Raids will become a staple feature, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
