Among these, fans of Final Fantasy 15 will recognize Noctis' iconic Engine Blade, which you can obtain during your first playthrough of NieR: Automata. This guide will help you locate the Engine Blade and provide an overview of its basic stats.
Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata
To acquire the Engine Blade, you'll need to explore the factory, but it won't be available during the game's introductory section. You must return later as 2B, at which point you can find it. For a quicker approach, use Chapter Select mode to jump directly to Chapter 9. Start from or fast travel to the Factory: Hanger access point, located within the factory.
From the access point, exit the room and take the path to the right, where the camera shifts to a 2D perspective. You'll pass a fenced-off section, ascend broken stairs, and navigate a conveyor belt littered with boxes. Be cautious on the next conveyor belt, as presses can crush you if you're not quick. After crossing, jump to the next cylinder where you'll encounter two spider-like enemies.
Continue through the left door, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, you'll reach a spot where the railing ends, and the platform extends toward the camera. Walk forward to shift the camera angle, entering another 2D platforming section. Follow the path left, jumping along the tops of the presses. At the end, you'll find a room with three chests; the Engine Blade is in the left chest, with a locked chest to the right.
Be alert, as more exploding enemies will drop from the ceiling as you approach the chests.
Engine Blade Basic Stats In NieR: Automata

- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
The Engine Blade can be upgraded four times, ultimately increasing its light combo to 7 attacks. To achieve these upgrades, you'll need to find the Masamune. Compared to the Iron Pipe, the Engine Blade boasts a lower damage spread, making it a reliable choice for players seeking consistent damage output.
