Capcom has just announced in their latest Spotlight stream that the second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds arrives on June 30. While this date was already hinted at due to an earlier leak, it's now officially confirmed.

This update introduces two highly anticipated monster hunts: Seregios, returning from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Lagiacrus, a fan-favorite from Monster Hunter Tri. Lagiacrus is famous for its aquatic agility and its legendary rivalry with Rathalos. While most of the battle against Lagiacrus in Monster Hunter: Wilds will occur on land—since underwater combat is limited—the hunt will still feature unique underwater segments and special interactions.

Beyond the new monsters, players can look forward to a wealth of new content. The June 30 update includes layered weapons (a long-awaited feature), enhanced photo mode settings, the option to change handlers, a Fender guitar collaboration gesture, a new free gesture set, fresh paid cosmetic items, and various other rewards and equipment.

Starting July 23, the seasonal Festival of Accord: Flamefete will begin, running until August 6. This event offers limited-time gear and exclusive benefits. Then, on July 30, an Arch-tempered monster, Arch-tempered Uth Duna, will emerge, bringing with it a formidable challenge quest and stunning new equipment rewards.

In our initial review, we awarded Monster Hunter: Wilds an 8, noting: "Monster Hunter Wilds continues to refine the series in intelligent ways, delivering incredibly fun combat, albeit with a somewhat reduced challenge level."

The second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds is available at no extra cost to all current owners of the game. It launches in just four days, on June 30. For a full recap of today’s Capcom Spotlight, you can find all the details here.
