MindsEye Unveils New Gameplay Trailer and $60 Price Tag with Content Rollout Plan

Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind the much-anticipated game MindsEye, has unveiled a new trailer, set a $59.99 price point, and detailed what players can expect when the game launches. Led by Leslie Benzies, a former Rockstar North veteran, the studio has confirmed that MindsEye will be released on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye offers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players will assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier with fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant. As Jacob, players will unravel a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a sinister threat that endangers humanity's survival. The narrative is brought to life with stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Adding to the excitement, MindsEye includes a PC-exclusive game creation system that allows players to design their own experiences using the game's assets. This feature promises to enrich the community's engagement and creativity.

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye offers a refreshing break from the typical $70-$80 AAA game price tag. For this price, players will get a comprehensive package at launch, including the linear story campaign, "single-player free roam," and a variety of missions. These include a horde mode mission called "Destruction Site Shootout" and two combat missions, "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." Additionally, players can enjoy six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Those opting for the premium pass will receive an extra horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

The debate over video game pricing continues to heat up, with major players like Nintendo and Microsoft moving to $80 price points for their titles. In contrast, mid-range games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country have found success at $50. MindsEye positions itself as a middle ground, offering substantial content at a more accessible price.

Looking beyond the launch, Build A Rocket Boy has promised a "constant stream" of fresh premium content every month, ensuring that MindsEye remains a dynamic and evolving experience. This will include new missions, challenges, and game assets. The studio aims to integrate community-created content with their own, providing a rich and ever-expanding world that will keep players engaged for years to come.

The 2025 roadmap for MindsEye includes community updates and new missions in the summer, new single-player modes, multiplayer, and additional missions in the fall, and free roam updates and more new missions in the winter. Premium pass holders can look forward to exclusive missions and new content packs throughout the year.
