Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The exciting news broke during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of the beloved Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter joined her co-star Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, on stage to share her enthusiasm about stepping back into Jessica Jones' shoes. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders, and now joining the MCU," Ritter exclaimed. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in the inaugural season of her Netflix series in 2015, captivating audiences with her portrayal of the tough-as-nails private investigator. Following two more successful seasons and the team-up series The Defenders, fans were left wondering if they would ever see Ritter don the leather jacket again. However, with Disney regaining the rights to certain Marvel characters in 2021, including Jessica Jones, the door was reopened for her return.
Charlie Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again further fueled speculation about the potential reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter will join the fray in Season 2.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in the third season of her solo series, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for Jessica in the MCU's future, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Although a release date has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that viewers can expect new episodes in March 2026.
