Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked

by Eric May 18,2025

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the final installment in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.

Fans eagerly anticipated Revenge of the Sith to witness Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A major plot point was the fate of the Jedi during Order 66, a sinister directive from Palpatine that turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars. Given the thousands of Jedi in service, it was plausible that some managed to evade the purge, beyond the few known survivors from the Original Trilogy.

Among the numerous Order 66 survivors introduced in canon Star Wars narratives, we have ranked the top 10 who have significantly impacted the storyline. These Jedi ranged from short-term survivors to those who endured much longer, with some fates remaining undisclosed. All of these Jedi lived on to fight another day after Palpatine's chilling command to "Execute Order 66."

To establish the criteria for this list, the characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, holding ranks such as Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even Jedi Initiate. This excludes Force-users like Maul and Palpatine, as well as individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who, despite receiving some Jedi training, were never officially part of the Order.

We had some debate over including Asajj Ventress. Although she was trained by Jedi Master Ky Narec on Rattatak and considered his Padawan, she never visited the Jedi Temple or met the Jedi Council. Her subsequent alignment with the Dark Side under Dooku adds complexity to her status. Thus, she earns an honorable mention.
