In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Bad Blood" offers a rich narrative experience, allowing players to delve deeper into the game's characters and their stories. Here's a detailed guide on how to start and complete this compelling quest.

How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

As you explore the expansive world of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll first need to progress in the quest to find Mutt. Your journey will lead you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut, where Henry will suggest checking if Bozhena has seen anything. Visit Bozhena's hut and inquire about Mutt. She'll reveal that her daughter Pavlena is missing. Agree to help her, which will add the "Bad Blood" quest to your journal.

Gather Information

Begin by traveling to Troskowitz to speak with Bailiff Thrush, followed by a conversation with Innkeeper Betty at the local tavern. These discussions will shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena's past, explaining their ostracism from the village.

Next, head to the designated area to converse with the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko and follow his guidance to Roman's house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick the door. Inside, investigate Pavlena's basket, then return to Dushko for further insights. He'll direct you to a favorite spot of the couple near Roman's house.

Search the Scene

From Roman's house, follow the objective marker down the hill towards the stream. Turn left at the two large boulders to discover the scene. Follow the blood trail to find Roman's body. Continue uphill to speak with Hogherd Hugo, then return to Troskowitz to discuss the situation with Hired Hand Straw. Successfully passing a dialogue check with Straw will reveal details about Jakesh and the truth behind Roman and Pavlena's story.

Afterward, you may also consult with Thrush to decide Straw's fate. Proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.

Confront Ota

Confront Ota in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In the designated area, navigate around the large boulder to find a path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. To persuade Ota to release Pavlena, you'll need high Charisma and should select the following dialogue options:

  • “What’s your name?”
  • “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
  • “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”

Even if Ota complies, Pavlena will kill him with the sword. After the confrontation, speak with Pavlena and accompany her back to Bozhena. Bozhena will then request that you deal with Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

Decision on Jakesh in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

For the final part of the quest, you have the choice to either eliminate Jakesh or mediate peace between him and Bozhena. Find Jakesh at his child's grave. You can choose to kill him, engage in dialogue to resolve the conflict peacefully, or even opt to kill Bozhena instead.

In my playthrough, I chose to kill Jakesh and informed Bozhena, earning a reward for my actions.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Killing Jakesh will negatively impact your reputation in Troskowitz, but it will significantly boost your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. This choice also unlocks a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewards you with a necklace that was a gift from Roman.

Alternatively, if you broker peace between Jakesh and Bozhena, Jakesh will offer you 100 groschen. When reporting back to Bozhena, you can either keep the money or share it with her. This resolution allows Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the village.
