The upcoming Harry Potter HBO television series has officially confirmed several pivotal casting choices, including the actors who will bring Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, and Molly Weasley to life.
Katherine Parkinson, widely recognized for her role in The IT Crowd, takes on the beloved character of Molly Weasley—the warm-hearted matriarch of the Weasley family and mother of Ron. She steps into the role previously portrayed by Julie Walters in the original film series.
In a significant reveal, newcomer Lox Pratt has been cast as Draco Malfoy, the cunning and privileged Slytherin student who serves as Harry Potter’s rival throughout their years at Hogwarts. Draco’s father, the calculating and aristocratic Lucius Malfoy, will be portrayed by Johnny Flynn, known for his compelling performances in both film and music.
Additional young cast members have also been confirmed, rounding out Harry and Draco’s Hogwarts peers. Leo Earley joins as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown—each set to play key roles among the next generation of wizarding students.
This latest casting news follows earlier announcements confirming Bertie Carvel (The Crown) as Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge, with Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby stepping into the roles of Harry’s stern aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley, respectively.
