HoYoverse has officially announced the next major update for *Genshin Impact* — Version 5.7, titled **"A Space and Time for You."** Set to go live on **June 18th**, this update promises a wealth of new content including exciting character debuts, deep lore progression, a fresh combat mode, and an engaging tactical mini-game developed in collaboration with the Sumeru Akademiya.
Skirk Arrives in Genshin Impact Version 5.7!
One of the most anticipated additions in this update is **Skirk**, a mysterious figure with strong connections to the Abyss and widely recognized as Childe’s enigmatic mentor. Skirk introduces a dynamic playstyle built around two distinct fighting forms, complemented by a unique mechanic known as **Serpent’s Subtlety**.
Joining her is **Dahlia**, a new 4-star Hydro character who also serves as the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. As a support-oriented unit, Dahlia is designed to enhance team synergy and utility. The first phase of Version 5.7 will feature Skirk, Dahlia, and a rerun of Shenhe. Later, during the second half of the update cycle, players can expect the return of **Mavuika**, the Pyro Archon, and **Emilie**.

Where’s the Story Heading?
The narrative continues directly from where the **Bedtime Story** quest concluded. The Traveler’s bond with their long-lost sibling grows stronger, while the Abyss Order begins its maneuvers in Natlan, stirring tension across the region. Both sides are preparing for conflict—Mavuika and her forces brace for impact, while Dainsleif returns in a powerful new form to aid the Traveler on the battlefield.
In addition, the Sumeru Akademiya is launching a **simulated adventure event** that blends strategic decision-making with randomized elements. Players will build teams using Companion Pieces and choose between two unique paths: **rainforest or desert**, each offering different challenges and rewards.
New Permanent Mode: Stygian Onslaught
Genshin Impact Version 5.7 introduces a brand-new permanent game mode called **Stygian Onslaught**. This mode features three rotating boss encounters and six escalating difficulty tiers. Completing challenges here rewards players with valuable Artifacts and a new item called **Dust of Enlightenment**, which allows you to re-roll substats on Level 20 Artifacts—offering greater customization for your team builds.
Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter
A charming new series titled **Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter** is also coming to Teyvat. This slice-of-life collection showcases lighthearted moments featuring beloved characters such as **Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori**, giving fans a chance to enjoy more personal stories beyond the main narrative.
