Garena’s blockbuster mobile battle royale, Free Fire, is set to captivate fans again at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh, with a staggering $1 million prize pool up for grabs. This event marks another milestone in Free Fire's multi-year partnership with EWC, promising excitement not only for 2025 but also in 2026.
Scheduled from July 16th to 20th, the tournament will see 18 elite Free Fire squads from around the globe vying for supremacy. The competition kicks off with a group stage, dividing the teams into three groups of six. The top twelve teams will advance to the Point-Rush stage, setting the stage for an intense Grand Final, which will employ the match point format to determine the ultimate champion. In addition to the team prize, a $10,000 bonus awaits the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP), adding an extra layer of competition.
Last year's champions, Team Falcons, return to defend their title after a remarkable performance in 2024. Despite a sluggish start in the Point-Rush phase, they surged ahead with two critical Booyahs in the finals, clinching the championship and securing their spot at the World Series in Rio.
Qualifiers for EWC 2025 are in full swing. The Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Southeast Asia (SEA) concludes on June 14th, with eight teams earning their passage to Riyadh. Latin America (LATAM) will send two teams by June 1st, Brazil will contribute four by June 22nd, and one team each will qualify from Pakistan, the Free Fire Master Series Championship (FF MSC), and Bangladesh. As defending champions, Team Falcons automatically secure their spot.
