FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced - Remedy's Co-Op FPS in Control Universe

by Ryan Jul 15,2025

Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. The game is designed as a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience rooted in the Control universe, offering players dynamic, team-focused gameplay through replayable missions known as Jobs. Each Job presents unique challenges, objectives, and environments, encouraging strategic teamwork and adaptability for success.

The game will be available on multiple platforms including PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 at a price point of $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. In a notable accessibility move, FBC: Firebreak will also be included in the PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium) from day one. This marks Remedy’s first self-published release, signaling a new chapter for the acclaimed developer.

For those looking to enhance their experience, Remedy introduced the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, available at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes exclusive cosmetic items and premium voice packs. Players who already own the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7.

Deluxe Edition Content Includes:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set featuring Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter” – a bundle of 36 unlockable cosmetic items such as weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

To further enrich player progression, FBC: Firebreak introduces Requisitions, a system that delivers gear and cosmetics based on gameplay. These items—ranging from weapons and equipment to armor and sprays—can be unlocked using in-game currency earned through regular play. Importantly, there are no limited-time offers or rotating shops; once an item is added to the game, it remains permanently accessible.

For players seeking deeper customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic options such as custom voice packs, weapon skins, and armor sets. These can be purchased with real money but carry no gameplay advantages—ensuring fairness across all players. All Classified items remain permanently available in the store.

Looking ahead, Remedy confirmed plans for continuous post-launch support, beginning with two new Jobs scheduled for release in late 2025. Additional content updates are set to roll out throughout 2026. All new Jobs and major content additions will be offered free of charge to every player. While optional cosmetic purchases will remain available, they will not influence gameplay mechanics, and Remedy has made it clear that there will be no time-limited item rotations or mandatory daily log-ins.

This period marks a significant moment for Remedy, which is simultaneously advancing several high-profile projects. Alongside FBC: Firebreak, the studio is developing Control 2 and preparing a remastered compilation of Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
