The game is being developed by Paradox Tinto, based in Barcelona, Spain, the team that has been instrumental in the development of Europa Universalis 4 over recent years. Although a release date remains under wraps, eager fans can already visit the Europa Universalis 5 Steam page.

"Master the arts of war, trade, diplomacy, and government in the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever. Guide the destiny of any of hundreds of nations and societies in a simulated living world of unparalleled depth and complexity."

PlayEuropa Universalis 5 has been in the works at Paradox Tinto for over five years, crafted with the dedicated Paradox fanbase at the forefront. The development team has taken into account over a year of public feedback, ensuring that this iteration is "the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever made."

Set to commence at the dawn of the Hundred Years' War in 1337, Europa Universalis 5 will guide players through pivotal historical moments with an array of new features. Among the highlights revealed today are a new, larger map with accurate projections and hundreds of distinct societies. A novel population-based system, along with enhanced production and trade mechanics, will allow players to establish farms, plantations, and factories or engage in trade with neighboring regions.

The goal is to offer players the ultimate freedom in building and managing their nation according to their vision. Although teased as a mysterious and "ambitious" project last week, fans had largely anticipated this reveal.
