The launch date for Dying Light: The Beast has been delayed four weeks for additional polish, with a new release date set for September 19, 2025.
Techland announced the revised schedule for Kyle Crane's brutal zombie-slaying adventure, shifting from its original August 21 debut. The developer explained the decision in an official blog post: "Our commitment has always been to deliver the finest Dying Light experience yet. To achieve this, we've chosen to postpone launch until September 19 for final refinements."
"While we recognize this news may disappoint fans, our development history proves how crucial first impressions are," the Polish studio added. "These extra four weeks will let us perfect key elements that transform good games into exceptional ones—including gameplay balance adjustments, UI clarity improvements, physics enhancements, and final touches on cinematics and animations."
Alongside the delay confirmation, Techland revealed plans for a public demo at gamescom 2024. The studio also teased upcoming development updates, including an in-depth look at the game's gore system next week.
