Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Leaks Before PlayStation Showcase

by Jason May 13,2025

A new installment in the Digimon video game series, titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, appears to have been leaked through GameStop just ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.

Gematsu first spotted and shared the listings for this mysterious project, providing store links that allow interested players to pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Despite the absence of images or gameplay details on the GameStop pages, an official announcement might be imminent.

The leak comes just hours before Sony's latest State of Play event, which promises 40 minutes of content. While the specifics of the show's lineup remain under wraps, the timing of the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-order listings suggests that fans might see the digital monster series featured in some capacity during the presentation.

The Digimon Story franchise has a rich history, starting with the original Digimon Story released for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, the series has expanded across various platforms, with notable recent releases including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory in 2017. A Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth games was launched in 2019.

In these games, players are transported into the Digimon world, where they can befriend and collaborate with digital monsters in RPG-style battles. Although franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a fresh installment. While titles like Digimon Survive have helped bridge the gap, the potential reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could mark the long-awaited continuation of the series.
