Though Yetuga is your first boss encounter, don’t let that fool you into thinking it will be a walk in the park. After mastering the game’s combat mechanics, you’ll need to use every tool at your disposal to succeed. Yetuga is an aggressive adversary who unleashes a barrage of attacks when its territory is threatened. It’s equipped with both long and short-range attacks, including a devastating leaping slam.

Your strategy should hinge on precise dodging and parrying to minimize damage. Yetuga's attack repertoire includes:

  • A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed smash downward followed by a right-handed uppercut.
  • A four-hit combo featuring horizontal swipes with either its left or right arm.
  • A powerful downward smash using both arms.
  • A leaping single-handed smash.
  • A jumping grab.
  • A charging attack.

Throughout the battle, you’ll learn to recognize Yetuga’s patterns and strike back during its attack intervals. Parrying, aside from the jumping grab, can inflict significant Stamina damage on the boss. Utilize Yetuga's aggressive nature to your advantage; for instance, dodge its charge and let it smash into a wall, creating a brief window of vulnerability where you can land free hits and potentially break the ice spikes on its back, which will weaken its attacks.

In the second phase, after sustaining enough damage, Yetuga will roar and power up. Keep your distance as it prepares to throw a giant rock at you. Dodge or parry this attack to avoid taking damage. Be wary of its new frost breath attack that generates ice spikes; either move out of the way or parry it at the right moment. Use Potent Attacks whenever possible, and when Yetuga shows signs of exhaustion, unleash a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage, hastening its defeat.

Upon defeating Yetuga, you’ll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve, marking your triumph over this formidable foe.

That’s all the crucial information you need to vanquish Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For additional assistance with the game, be sure to check out resources on The Escapist.
