Death Stranding 2 (DS2) expands its eclectic cast with Hololive VTuber Usada Pekora, confirmed by Kojima Productions via Twitter (X) on May 29. Pekora will portray a Prepper, an isolated NPC in the game’s universe.
Usada Pekora, a prominent Japanese VTuber from Hololive’s 3rd generation, dubbed "hololive fantasy," boasts over 2.7 million subscribers, ranking her as the fourth most-subscribed Hololive star.
A brief clip showcased Pekora greeting players outside a Prepper Shelter, a bunker housing these NPCs. Her exact role remains undisclosed, with the teaser stating, “What kind of Prepper could she be…? Find out after the game launches!”
Pekora’s connection with Kojima Productions isn’t new. Last year, she visited their studio, where Hideo Kojima, the game’s creator, shared a photo of them posing with a Ludens statue. Kojima, a known Pekora fan, has frequently mentioned watching her livestreams.
