by Hazel May 20,2025

In an unprecedented move that blurs the lines between sports and gaming, Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time alongside Lionel Messi, is set to join the roster of playable characters in the upcoming fighting game, *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves*. This marks one of the most unexpected guest appearances in recent fighting game history.

SNK Corporation, the game's developer and publisher, unveiled Ronaldo's inclusion through an exciting trailer that showcases how the football legend has been seamlessly integrated into the game's comic-inspired art style. Ronaldo brings his football prowess to the fight, utilizing moves like the "Headed Clearance" and a slide tackle. Fans will also recognize his iconic 'Siuuu' celebration, although Ronaldo's voice in the game is provided by voice actor Juan Felipe Sierra rather than Ronaldo himself.

Here’s the official description of Ronaldo’s character:

One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters.

The 40-year-old forward currently plays for Al Nassr FC, a professional football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, competing in the Saudi Pro League. The club is majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Interestingly, SNK is now almost entirely owned by the Saudi Crown Prince’s foundation, adding another layer of intrigue to this collaboration.

*Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* is scheduled for release on April 24, 2025. The game promises a dynamic art style, a mix of new and returning fighters, and modernized battle systems, setting the stage for what could be one of the most talked-about fighting games of the year.
