How To Craft & Use Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins - Gem Crafting and Pyroxene Farming Guide

Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by crafting and upgrading Gems! Gems provide passive buffs, offering a significant advantage, especially on higher difficulties. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.

Gem Crafting and Leveling

Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Navigate to your room and select "Create Gems" (the second option). You can use Pyroxene to craft gems at a 1:1 ratio. Five distinct gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene use offering a chance to obtain any of them.

Initially crafted gems are level 1 and equippable via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicates of a gem grants experience (XP), increasing its level and potency. For broad improvement, use all Pyroxene at once.

For targeted gem acquisition, utilize the "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect. Crafting a single gem may trigger this, randomly selecting three gems for subsequent Pyroxene use. Cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the crafting menu. While tedious, crafting one gem at a time increases the chance of triggering "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it.

Gem Name Passive Boost
Oblivion Gem Expands attack range.
Vortex Gem Boosts damage to airborne enemies.
Scorch Gem Boosts damage to parried enemies.
Wellspring Gem Restores health per 100 defeated enemies.
Ascendance Gem Chance to automatically block officer attacks.

Pyroxene Locations

Pyroxene crystals (orange) randomly appear in the overworld. Interacting with a crystal yields one Pyroxene, after which it disappears. Completing skirmishes or battles respawns some Pyroxene, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters received in your Inn or tent room may also occasionally contain Pyroxene.
