Disney+ August 2025 Streaming Preview
As a new month begins, Disney+ prepares to roll out an exciting mix of content across various genres. While the platform won't see many original streaming series debuts this August (with notable exceptions from the MCU), subscribers can look forward to plenty of reality programming and international dramas. As always, most new additions will be previously aired content from Disney Channel and Disney Jr.
August 2025 Disney+ Content Lineup
Continuing Series
Two ongoing shows will maintain their weekly release schedule in August. Project Runway's twenty-first season will drop new episodes every Thursday following their Freeform broadcast. The Korean crime drama Low Life continues with two weekly Wednesday episodes until its season finale on August 15.
August 1 Highlights
The animation anthology Eyes of Wakanda brings four episodes of Black Panther-inspired storytelling to the MCU lineup, praised by IGN as one of the franchise's most visually stunning series. Simultaneously, Disney+ launches its 24/7 Outdoor Adventure Stream, offering continuous programming for nature enthusiasts.
August 3 Debut
The documentary series Naming the Dead, originally a Hulu/Nat Geo collaboration, follows the important work of the DNA Doe Project across six compelling episodes.
August 6 Releases
The third season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder headlines this date with ten new episodes. Other additions include three reality series (Christmas Wars, Rachael Ray's Holidays, Raising Asia) and Nat Geo's two-part Wild Vietnam nature documentary.
August 8 Additions
An unusual summer collection of five holiday-themed romance films arrives alongside the second season of SuperKitties: Su-Purr Adventures shorts.
August 12 Premiere
Marvel's preschool-friendly series Iron Man and His Awesome Friends makes its streaming debut one day after its Disney Jr. television premiere.
August 13 Content
Fans of Disney's chibi-style animation can enjoy fifteen additional episodes across seasons two and three of Chibiverse.
August 15 Features
Chris Hemsworth challenges himself in Nat Geo's health-focused documentary Limitless: Live Better Now. The service will also broadcast the Stand Up to Cancer 2025 benefit live from Nashville.
August 20 Arrivals
Viewers can enjoy three seasons (25 episodes) of Nat Geo's rescue series Ice Road Rescue alongside the complete first season of Turkish drama Reminder.
August 21 Release
The second season of Me and Winnie the Pooh arrives nearly six months after its Disney Jr. broadcast.
August 22 Disney Jr. Transfer
The mermaid princess returns in Disney Jr's Ariel, blending elements from both animated and live-action Little Mermaid adaptations with a chibi art style.
August 25 Specials
World Princess Week brings a 24/7 princess-themed streaming channel and the premiere of LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite, featuring iconic Disney antagonists joining forces. Nat Geo also debuts wildlife documentary The Last Rhinos: A New Hope.
August 27 Final Additions
Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends returns with three new episodes, while shipwreck exploration series Shipwreck Hunters Australia makes its platform comeback after a three-year hiatus. Six new Chibi Tiny Tales shorts complete the month's offerings.
Cross-Platform Content
Throughout August, Disney+ subscribers can access select programming from partner platforms Hulu and ESPN+, including popular shows like Solar Opposites and live sports coverage. Bundle subscribers with HBO Max access gain additional titles from Warner Bros. Discovery's catalog.
